Ochun also recognized as Oshun is the queen mother of rivers and surely posses the characteristics of fresh flowing water . For that reason, common prayer requests to Ochun are matters of the heart, fertility, abundance, prosperity, and sensuality.
Women who wish to have a better connection with the sacral chakra, especially mom's seeking balance in nurturing and caring for themselves postpartum may find solace in working with Oshun.
Oshun is considered one of the most commercialized Orishas for obvious reasons. She is beautiful, wanted by many and draped in gold. However there is a lesson to be learned from her story and that lesson is self love.
Please be advised, love spells are best effective when purposed inwards. Everything that is right about love will come to follow when you start with yourself. Working on self love ironically will come with lots of heart breaks because everything attached to you that does not align with your destiny will get removed. People aren't ready for that separation and that's what keeps them at the door of destiny rather than stepping through . You may feel lonely at first. Don't obsess over the who, what, when, where, why, or how your season ends with longterm relationships wether in love, work or familial. Focus on a solution oriented healthy outlet to get you through your transition.
Self love, light work is best done during full or new moon phases and can be paired with banishing or detachment work during the waning moon.
Banishing or detachment work is best in situations where you are learning to set new boundaries with ( soulties )someone you have known for years, or have children with. It is always best to lead with love light and prayer to rebuke any spirit of resentment while healing your self. Prayers for peace and solution can be offered to Obatala.
