- About The Brand -

From the owner
As a first-generation American born and raised in Brooklyn NY, it took a while to find my footing in many aspects of life. Self-care was one of my biggest challenges, Popular cosmetics dried and irritated my skin, but my peers did not struggle the way I did to fight dry skin. I thought I was just unlucky being born in this skin. My parents took us back to Roatan, Honduras every summer. When I saw my Garifuna people in the community I saw their beauty, everyone had radiant skin and I got complimented on the same complexion I got ridiculed for in my hometown. That is when I realized I was not unlucky, I was misinformed and I needed to approach my self-care from the lens of research and reflection. I asked my parents, what did my Garifuna ancestors use to moisturize? The answer was simple, coconut oil from their yard. At that moment I knew, a radiant lifestyle would be principled in natural healing. I began to make my own skin products and study the use of herbs in my family history.
When I gave birth to my daughter I began to journal about my spiritual health and self-love journey; with the purpose of leaving my children with a written guide on their journey with divinity and faith. That is how Freequency Skin Care was born, to document and share the passion I have for spiritual health and traditions that have been lost in the new world.
Mudana Balance
Mudana is a Garifuna word that translates to internal in English. Much of the beauty industry is meant to keep us coming back for the wrong reasons. We stress that what you put in your body is just as important as what you use topically, and what you consume energetically. Our products will manage daily environmental stress factors, and support the functions in your body that relate to your aura, which is everything.
One good habit can lead to a lifetime of discipline. I started out wanting to address my insecurities and now self-care has provided so much more than boosted self-esteem, it holds the key to my peace and purpose, I found a happiness that never wavers, and I hope to share the experience.
Our mission at Freequency Skin Care is to define the thin line between gimmick marketing and honest skin care through transparency, education, and reflection.
We want to expand the idea of self-care. As herbalists, we specialize in curating each spiritual bath to target energetic vampires of all forms. Our technique comes from our elders and we pride ourselves in growing our own plants.
The goal is to spread information that promotes healing and negates the stigmas that have been placed on African-based spirituality. Finally, we hope to encourage our tribe to connect with their genetic history, and spiritual identity, to make their truth accessible to our descendants.
